You know when you are about the take part in something special, when the couple you are going to photograph shares a video with you of their surprise engagement and you tear up.  That’s what happened to me on the way to an engagement shoot  of a couple that truly shared a love for one another that exemplified patience, prayer, faith, respect for one another, and beauty.   Obie (a guitarist, photographer, assistant pastor, and videographer) had proposed to Joyce while on tour in Brazil with the band Christafari in February.  He faked a music video shoot for one of the singers in the band in front of the landmark statue Cristo Redentor in Rio de Janeiro and had Joyce stand in front of the camera to get the frame set up.  She had no clue that it was all for her.  There he got down on one knee and proposed.  Her reaction?  Priceless.

Joyce and Obie are such talented people.  She designs costumes and makes her own clothing, she can dance and follow choreography well, she sings, she loves serving others, she’s super caring, and creative in so many things.  With Obie also being a creative mind with a servant heart– I’m so excited to see what this couple will be doing in the future.   I’m  honored to capture the love between these two and help tell their story on their wedding day.
