Lifestyle and Portraits
As a visual story teller, I’m driven by documenting everyday moments like laughs and giggles, cuddles and kisses, a crying moment softened with a sweet embrace, dancing in the living room to your favorite song, jumping on the bed, a new mother and father holding their newborn in their new home. As a mother myself, I know how important it is to want to capture these moments in time, because your cute cuddly kids will one day be seniors going off to college in a flash.
My other love is capturing portraits at any life stage— From babies, to seniors, to the family portrait. These are the shots that will be hung on your wall. Portrait sessions differ a bit from lifestyle sessions. Lifestyle sessions can be 1.5 hours or longer, where Portrait sessions can range from a 15 minute mini session to 1 hour. Portrait sessions capture more portraits of the person or group of people than lifestyle story telling moments. A lifestyle session will include portraits, environmental portraits and captured moments that tell the family or subject's story.

"Thank you, Bernadette, for the wonderful experience and amazing photos from our family lifestyle shoot! We had booked a session with Bernadette to document our first days of being a new family of five and she went above and beyond to really get to know our family to authentically capture our crazy but fun and loving current lifestyle. Taking the patience to get a family portrait (not easy with a 5 year old with self proclaimed "googly eyes" when it comes to the camera, a 2 year old that can't be bribed and newborn needing feeding and changing breaks), Bernadette pulled out all the tricks to get the kids' attention and kept her persistence and cool in coaxing them into getting a holiday card worthy shot.
The candid photos of our family were amazing to see once our gallery was delivered (ahead of promised schedule) - those are moments in time that we are so happy to have captured and know that we will look back on for many years to come. We also enjoyed the shots of our home, which we didn't expect - in the case that we ever move those really add to the whole "story" of our life right now that I feel so blessed to have been able to document so vividly.
